Large standing orders are the core of what we do. Set a recurring schedule and every run is made for the day you collect or receive it. A 500 lb order is $750 online, $1.50 a pound. Standing orders are priced to your volume.

You don't have to run a warehouse to buy from us. Order online and either collect the ice at our Delta facility or have our driver bring it to you. It is cut to order off the same line our commercial orders run on. Handy for anyone in Vancouver, Surrey or Richmond who needs a cooler's worth, not a standing order.

Run by people who use dry ice every day

Polar Sharks is an independent dry ice manufacturer in Metro Vancouver, locally made and operated. We use our own dry ice in our own work, so we notice right away when a batch falls short. If it isn't good enough for our jobs, it doesn't go out to yours.

The name? The Greenland shark is the only shark that spends its whole life under polar ice. A real polar shark. Felt about right for a crew that makes cold for a living.

Where can I buy dry ice in Metro Vancouver?
Straight from our plant in Delta, BC. Order online and either collect it in a pickup window or have our driver bring it, or send a quote request with the format and amount and we'll confirm a time with you. Pickup hours are Mon–Fri, 7 am–4 pm, closed on BC statutory holidays. Same-day pickup when we have your order in stock. Otherwise order by 2 pm for next-day pickup. We deliver Monday to Friday, during the day. Order by 2 pm for delivery the next working day. Standing orders get a quote built around your schedule.
Is your dry ice made locally or shipped in from another province?
Made locally. We run our own line in Metro Vancouver and cut orders to spec, so it's hours old when it reaches you, not freighted in days-old from Alberta or out of province. Made-to-order product means higher density and slower sublimation, which is the whole reason local production matters.
How long does dry ice last?
In a good insulated cooler it sublimates roughly 5 to 10 pounds every 24 hours, faster in warm or open conditions. Buy it close to when you'll use it. Ice made hours ago outlasts ice trucked in days ago.
Which formats do you make, and what's the minimum order?
We make 3 mm blasting pellets, 16 mm nuggets and 5 lb slices, sold online from 1 lb up to 500 lb orders. Airline cut is coming soon, and custom sizes are quoted on request. All of it is for pickup in Delta or delivery to your address. An order under $25 of ice is charged $25 plus GST. For scheduled commercial and bulk supply, tell us your volume and cadence and we build it around your operation.
How should I store and handle dry ice?
Keep it in a ventilated, insulated container, never sealed and never a home freezer. Wear gloves, since bare skin contact causes a cold burn. Don't leave it in a closed car cabin. The full notes are on our dry ice safety page.
